Andrew Aviste has always been drawn to and inspired by the works of the old masters - from Leonardo Da Vinci and Rembrandt to more contemporary masters such as Andrew Wyeth. Driven to increase the scale and quality of his craft, he traveled to Norway to study under the renowned living master, Odd Nerdrum. There, through discussions of rational clarity paired with emotional concentration, he began sharpening his mind and skills. Today, Andrew creates paintings that tell stories, but cannot be traced to any singular place or time. Through paint, his work reflects on the archetypes of human nature; great tragedies, incredible triumphs, and tales of adventure, love and despair -- for these are the things that have, and forever will, stand the test of time.
